MagLev Downhole Pumps

The Ziebel MagLev Pump - A game changing new downhole pump for wells
and subsea-to-surface production risers. Downhole pumps have only been
modified since the 1930's. Few new technologies have been introduced
to design a completely new approach.
Ziebel has introduced a completely new patented concept for a downhole pump, based on technologies launched in other industries the last 10-15 years. The Ziebel MagLev pump that will be launched into the market mid 2009 offers a simpler pump construction than any other electrical downhole pumps in the market.
In 2009 we will install our first pumps in gas wells on- and offshore that requires dewatering, where one pump will be through-tubing deployed by an umbilical used to power and monitor the pump as well as bringing water to surface. The other one will be tubing deployed, introducing the abilities to remove inner pistons (wear parts) to surface by wireline, whereby full-bore well interventions below pump can be achieved for logging, zonal isolation, water shut-off, etc. A third model will be used to artificial lift oil wells.
Advantages include:
Much simpler and more flexible solutions
No rig required to install or pull the through-tubing deployed
pump
Only two moving parts
Can be scaled up for higher flowrates
Will remove need for production tubing in most land well applications
Cost efficient
